Pickleball Courts to Take Over Penn Station

Just when you thought Penn Station couldn’t surprise you any more, a brand new sensation has arrived to add a zing of vitality to the bustling transport hub. The latest venture by Vornado, as part of their $2 billion improvements, brings none other than – hold your breath – Pickleball courts!

Taking a swing at the city’s fastest-growing leisure sport, Penn Station is set to break ground with seven, yes, seven cutting-edge pickleball courts! The courts will be an exciting new addition to the soon-to-open Life Time facility, a high-end lifestyle brand that’s all about health and wellness.

This expansive Life Time complex, spanning an impressive 53,000 square feet, will occupy the first three floors of PENN 1. But it won’t just be about breaking a sweat and having fun. The pickleball courts will be part of a grand setting, complete with lounge seating, a bar, and a gamut of other athletic club programs and amenities.

Parham Javaheri, the Executive Vice President of Life Time, is elated to bring what he calls, “the city’s most premier indoor pickleball club.” This not only aligns with the Life Time brand’s commitment to promoting a healthier lifestyle, but also taps into the rising popularity of pickleball among New Yorkers.

The opening of Life Time at Penn 1 is planned in two exciting stages. This summer, the first phase will witness the launch of a state-of-the-art athletic club, taking the place of the previous fitness center on the tower’s second and third floors.

The introduction of pickleball courts in the heart of the city, right by Penn Station, is bound to serve as a landmark moment in New York’s sports scene. As the city’s love for this thrilling sport continues to soar, the soon-to-be pickleball hub at Penn Station is set to be a game-changer.

Stay tuned for this sensational blend of sport, lifestyle, and city life, right in the heart of New York City. Game on, pickleball enthusiasts!
